AMADEUS INTERFACE SETUP

 

Amadeus Name Formats in GDS Printer. (SAPE).

 

 

Step 1.

Logon to the computer where the Amadeus Printer software is installed.

 

Step 2

Look for the Amadeus Connection Icon on the Task Bar as given below.

 

 

 

 

 

If the bottom line is given in red colour it means there is a problem with the connection.  If the line is green the connection will be working fine.

 

Double click on the icon and it will show you the following screen which shows the status of connection and why the connection is not working.

 

 

 

You should not close the Amadeus pro printer connection just minimise it , if you try to close it you will get the following message , Press NO and minimise the pro printer.

 

 

 

Step 3.

 

How to identify the path where Amadeus is downloading the file.

 

Search for the Amadeus Pro printer Menu on the desktop – select the option administration.

 

 

 

On the menu – select  Device

 

 

 

 


The following screen will be displayed.

Select the option “ AIR

 

 

 

On the option “ First Output”  Press settings.  This will display the directory where the files are getting downloaded.

 

You can change it here to match your PenFTP or PenGDS settings.

 

Ask the consultant to download the files and check if the files are getting downloaded to the directory given here and also PenFTP or GDS is picking up the file.


Make sure that the files are getting downloaded, if not please contact Amadeus Help desk.

 

Once you identify the path you can proceed to install PenFTP or PenGDS.

 

 

Amadeus Adult and child booking is coming in separate folders.

 

If Auto folder is enabled, sometimes Amadeus booking containing both Adult and Child booking will come in two different folders. This is because; Amadeus split the booking file into two GDS files. 

The reason being there is no connection between fare lines and passenger lines in Amadeus file. So both the passenger type come in same file, system will not be able to identify which fare belongs to which passenger.

 

Available solution:

This issue happens only in case Auto folder is enabled. If there is no auto folder penguin will combine both the files automatically.  If Auto folder is enabled, system will invoice the first file (e.g. ADT), so the second file  (CHD) will be created as second folder.

So the solution is to create a delay for the Auto folders e.g. 10 seconds, so both the files will be loaded together.You can check the delay in files by looking at the GDS path to  identify the optimum timing to combine the files.
